Cookie Policy
Last updated: 25 September 2026
What HSR Billbook stores in your browser, why, and for how long. Nothing optional is stored until you allow it.
Template notice. This policy is a starting draft. Have it reviewed against your registered entity, your actual data practices and current Indian law before you rely on it.
1. Your choice
The first time you visit, a banner asks what we may store. Essential only and Accept all carry equal weight, and closing the site without answering means only essential storage is used. The choice covers both hsrbillbook.com and the app, and is asked again after 180 days or whenever what we store changes.
You can change your mind at any time: (also in this site’s footer and in the app’s profile menu). Withdrawing consent deletes the optional items straight away.
2. Essential — always on
These make the service you asked for work: signing in, remembering which business you are in, and keeping the app fast and usable offline. The law does not require consent for them, and turning them off would break the app.
| Name | Where | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| hsr_consent (cookie) | Website and app | Records the choice you made in the cookie banner, so you are asked once for both sites. | 180 days |
| Firebase Authentication (IndexedDB) | App and admin console | Keeps you signed in. If you untick “Keep me signed in on this device”, it lasts only until the tab closes. | Until you sign out |
| hsrbillbook:activeBusinessId, hsrbillbook:activeBranchId | App | Opens the business and branch you were last working in. | Until you clear site data |
| hsrbillbook:pos:held:<business> | App | Holds POS sales you parked, so they survive a refresh at the counter. | Until the sale is resumed or discarded |
| Offline data cache (IndexedDB) | App | A local copy of the data you have opened, so screens load instantly and keep working on a weak connection. | Until you clear site data |
| App files (Cache Storage, service worker) | App | The app’s own code, fonts and icons, so it starts fast and can be installed. | Replaced on every update |
| hsrbillbook:chunkReloadAt (session storage) | App | Reloads the app once after an update instead of showing an error. | Until the tab closes |
3. Preferences — only with your consent
Small conveniences. Without them the app works the same; it just asks again.
| Name | Where | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| hsrbillbook:lastEmail | App | Fills in the email you last signed in with. | Until you withdraw consent |
| hsrbillbook:invoiceTerms:<business> | App | Starts a new invoice with the credit terms you used last time. | Until you withdraw consent |
| hsr.help.dashboardPanelOpen | App | Remembers whether you opened or closed the “How to use” panel. | Until you withdraw consent |
4. Third parties you choose to use
- Razorpay: when you pay for a plan, Razorpay’s checkout may set its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud, under Razorpay’s privacy policy.
- Google sign-in: if you choose “Continue with Google”, Google uses its own cookies on its own domain to sign you in.
We do not use advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Clearing storage yourself
Your browser’s “clear site data” option removes everything above. For the app this also removes the offline cache, so the next visit downloads your data again. Signing out never deletes records from your account. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle the data itself, or write to support@hsrbillbook.com.
