Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 September 2026
These terms govern your use of HSR Billbook. By creating an account you agree to them.
Template notice. This policy is a starting draft. Have it reviewed against your registered entity, your actual data practices and current Indian law before you rely on it.
1. The agreement
This agreement is between you (or the business you represent) and HSR Billbook. If you are accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2. The service
HSR Billbook is a web application for GST billing, invoicing, inventory, purchases, point-of-sale billing and GST reporting. We provide it on a subscription basis, as it stands from time to time.
Important on compliance. The service prepares GST returns from the records you enter; it does not file them. Filing on the GST portal remains your responsibility. e-Invoice and e-way bill submissions are transmitted under credentials you supply for your own GSP or IRP account. Nothing in the service is tax, accounting or legal advice.
3. Your account
- Give accurate registration information and keep it current.
- Keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for everything done under your account.
- Tell us promptly at support@hsrbillbook.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
- You are responsible for the access levels you grant your team members.
4. Free trial
New businesses get a 7-day free trial with no card required. At the end of the trial you choose whether to subscribe. We do not charge you automatically at the end of a trial.
5. Fees and payment
- Fees are those published on our pricing page at the time you pay, per business.
- Prices are quoted excluding GST; 18% GST is added at checkout. You receive a tax invoice.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay. Their terms apply to the payment transaction itself.
- A subscription runs for the term you bought. Access continues to the end of that term and does not renew unless you pay again.
- We may change prices for future terms. A change never affects a term you have already paid for, and we will give reasonable notice.
6. Refunds
Cancellation and refunds are covered in our Refunds & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the service to issue false, fabricated or fraudulent invoices or records;
- break any law, including tax, data protection and anti-money-laundering law;
- attempt to access another customer’s data, or probe, scan or test our systems without written permission;
- resell, sublicense or white-label the service without our written agreement;
- upload malware, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights;
- place a load on the service intended to degrade it for others.
We may suspend an account that breaches this clause, and will tell you why where we lawfully can.
8. Your data
Your records remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to host, process, back up and display them so we can provide the service. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of what you enter, including GSTINs, HSN codes, tax rates and the classification of your supplies.
9. Availability
We work to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted operation. It may be unavailable during maintenance, or because of a failure at an upstream provider — hosting, payment gateway, or the government portals themselves — that is outside our control.
10. Intellectual property
The software, design, documentation and brand are ours and stay ours. These terms grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your subscription. Nothing here transfers ownership.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data, or for any penalty, interest or demand arising from a return you filed, a figure you entered, or a filing deadline you missed.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms or of any law, or from records you created with it.
13. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using the service at any time; how that interacts with fees is in the refund policy.
- We may suspend or terminate for a material breach of these terms, or if required by law.
- After termination we retain your records for the statutory period described in the privacy policy. Export what you need before you leave — GST registers export to Excel and JSON, and lists export to CSV.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at City, State have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any right you have under consumer law to bring proceedings elsewhere.
